Caritas et Amor

Univox presents:

Caritas et Amor

Saturday, December 14
8:00pm
Christ Church Deer Park
1570 Yonge Street

Please join us on Saturday, December 14 for our annual December concert.  We welcome special guests, Maderaz Latin Music, accompanying us for our feature work, Ariel Ramirez’ Misa Criolla.  This contemporary mass is a setting of the lively folk genres and rhythms of Ramirez’ native Argentina and the greater Andean region.  Tenor, Lucas Marchand and Baritone, Graham Robinson will be featured soloists.  Also on the program are a set of Spanish Madrigals for Christmas, a Lucy Maud Montgomery setting by Composer-in-Residence, Patrick Murray, and sacred works by Raminsh, Gjeilo and Gorecki.  We’ll also perform arrangements of contemporary carols written by our own members and have a poetry by Toronto spoken-word artist, ‘IF’.  The concert will explore the theme of ‘love and charity’ through music and the holiday season.  Univox will donate a portion of the concert proceeds to our local charity partner, Fred Victor, a social services organization that fosters long-lasting and positive change in the lives of homeless and low income people living all across Toronto.

  1. I wish I could be there! The line-up sounds amazing, and the last residential composter I saw in action was years ago behind my parents’ backyard shed, before I moved away. Sign me up for post-concert recordings!
